- 6290 Boston Scientific LATITUDE™ Home Monitoring System
Certain Boston Scientific pacemakers and defibrillators come with an automatic, in-home monitoring system called LATITUDE. This gives your health care provider access to updates about how your implant is working remotely between scheduled office visits, so you don’t have to leave the comfort of your home.
Here, you can learn about how this technology works, how to use it at home and how it could help your doctor monitor your heart condition.
Innovative Home Monitoring Capabilities
We are dedicated to advancing remote heart monitoring technologies in order to:
- Increase your connection to your doctor, giving you a sense of security
- Enable your doctor to check on your implant remotely, saving you time and worry
- Improve how quickly certain heart conditions may be detected and, ultimately, treated
Sending Your Data to Your Doctor
Your Communicator wirelessly reads information collected by your implant and either send this information to your doctor automatically or prompts you to send it at scheduled times. Depending on your system, LAITTUDE can monitor and send your weight and blood pressure data, giving your doctor useful information in making your treatment decisions.
Protected Medical Information
You can feel confident knowing LATITUDE uses advanced security methods to protect your medical information. Only authorized healthcare providers can access to your information through the secure clinician website.
Health and Safety Benefits
In addition to making it monitoring more convenient, LATITUDE can also substantially improve survival. Our ALTITUDE Study found that people using LATITUDE Home Monitoring over the five years of the study had a 50% relative risk reduction of death compared to people who only went to the clinic for implant checks.
