Product Description

PPM1508X3 - MEDTRONIC PLC - Parietene™ Macroporous Mesh, 15 CM X 7.5 CM, Rectangular Box of 24

Parietene™ macroporous mesh is designed for extraperitoneal mesh placement only, for the repair of abdominal wall hernias by laparoscopic or open approach.†,1–5

It is a nonabsorable synthetic surgical mesh with a two-dimensional (2-D) monofilament polypropylene knitted textile construction, offered in rectangular and square flat sheets as well as pre-cut versions.

Based on benchtop data. Benchtop data are not necessarily indicative of human clinical outcomes. It is recommended to use a trocar of at least 8 mm internal diameter to introduce a mesh of size up to 20 × 20 cm and to use a trocar of at least 10 mm internal diameter to introduce a mesh of size 30 × 30 cm or above. Do not force the mesh through the trocar. Inappropriate insertion may lead to textile damage. The pre-cut versions are not designed for trocar passage.

  • Designed for open inguinal hernia repairs
  • Intended for the repair of hernias or other fascial deficiencies that require the addition of a reinforcing material
  • Not only streamlines procedures in the operating room, it can help improve the bottom line
  • Can be used for extraperitoneal hernia repair procedures ranging from open/lap inguinal to open ventral

Parietene™ macroporous mesh is a high-porosity polypropylene textile that balances softness and rigidity, allowing for easy mesh handling and abdominal wall comformability.

Compatible with open and laparoscopic surgical approaches including robotic hernia repair, its features and benefits include:

  • Large pores that favor good tissue integration.
  • Higher or equivalent mechanical strength compared to similar meshes.
  • A variety of sizes up to 50 × 50 cm for a full range of coverage.6
  • A low recurrence rates when used in open and robotic transversus abdominis release (TAR) procedures.
  • Good patient-reported outcomes, with a low incidence of chronic pain9,15 and improved quality of life
  • Overall positive clinical outcomes expressed by low hernia recurrance rate.
